A review of key technologies for integration of electric vehicle-charging station-transportation network-grid based on bibliometric analysis

  • Electric vehicles (EVs) are instrumental in balancing the operation of the transportation networks and grids for the dual attribute of power and traffic load. Current research community has gained significant efforts on key technologies for the integration of electric vehicle-charging station-transportation network-grid (VSNGI). Therefore, a synthetic review on this domain is needed. In this context, the VSNGI research included in the Web of Science (WoS) was synthetically analyzed using bibliometric methods, the software VOSviewer and CiteSpace. The results show that the internationally interested VSNGI research is in a period of rapid development in terms of publication volume, national, institutional, and journal performance. The cited literature provided work accumulation in five aspects: "the impact and control of EVs on the grid", "design of EV charging stations", "integration of charging stations and grids", "integration of charging stations and transportation networks" and "coupling of the transportation network and grid". Then, the latest progress was summarized in four aspects: "characterization methods of spatiotemporal features of road network demand and grid load", "SNG collaborative layout technology", "VSN orderly guidance technology", and "VNG interactive response technology". Lastly, the problems and prospects in the VSNGI research were discussed. The joint efforts of researchers from multiple disciplines are required by the development of the VSNGI field. The VSNGI research will be of crucial significance in the transformation of the transportation field.
